From October 2 to 5, the Galileo Galilei Planetarium of Buenos Aires joins 100 Hours of Astronomy, an international celebration that shows you the universe as you’ve never seen it through lectures, exhibitions and space exhibits.
The Planetarium celebrates 100 Hours of Astronomy with immersive shows in the dome, guided tours and telescope observation.
100 Years of Astronomy is an international event, promoted by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), which seeks to bring astronomy closer to everyone and promote the magic of the universe and the cosmos.

In this 2025 edition, the Planetarium of Buenos Aires is the regional node for Latin America, which makes it the reference in the coordination of this event.
The Planetarium offers you this weekend more than ten activities grouped into three central axes: immersive shows in the dome, guided tours and digital content and interactive experiences.
All the activities at the Planetarium of Buenos Aires for the celebration of the 100 Hours of Astronomy are designed for families, students of all levels, and basically anyone interested in science.
What activities can you do this weekend for the 100 Hours of Astronomy?
Among the activities of this astronomical event, you can take guided tours through the museum and the astronomical plaza, with stops at real pieces such as meteorites, moon rocks and astronomical instrumentation.
You can also join immersive functions in the dome with astronomical projections that will make you travel visually through the cosmos in 360, an immersive experience that arouses curiosity and amazement.
One of the most anticipated activities this weekend are the telescope observations.
The Galileo Galilei Planetarium is located in the woods of Palermo, and was inaugurated in 1966. Its dome, 20 meters in diameter, is capable of projecting up to 8,900 fixed stars, constellations and nebulae in great detail. It also houses a museum with pieces of scientific and didactic value, including meteorites, lunar rocks and ancient fossils.
During the 100 Hours of Astronomy, hundreds of simultaneous events will take place in different parts of the world as well as in Buenos Aires. Are you going to participate?
