The sky over Buenos Aires, when clear, is a vast canvas offering opportunities to view the stars. That’s why Buenos Aires Estelar returns in May—a special outdoor night where you can view the stars and the moon for free at one of Buenos Aires’ most beautiful viewpoints.
The starry sky of Buenos Aires from one of its most spectacular viewpoints—for free
For two nights, May 7 and 8, the terraces of La Cúpula at the Palacio Libertad will be transformed into an urban observatory where people of all ages can gaze at the sky through telescopes and be amazed by what’s happening up there.
Buenos Aires Estelar is organized in partnership with the Argentine Association of Friends of Astronomy and invites you to explore the night sky with expert guides: observe the moon in detail, identify its craters, and explore star clusters that have been shining for millions of years.

Yes, even in a city like Buenos Aires, you can observe the sky with the naked eye, and with a telescope, the experience changes completely. Imagine being in the dome of the Palacio Libertad in Puerto Madero, with less light and in silence, observing the night sky.
Buenos Aires Estelar: Free, but with limited space
Participating in the stargazing sessions with telescopes at the Palacio Libertad viewpoint is a free activity, but space is limited. Tickets (up to two per person) can be picked up at the ticket office in the central hall starting one hour before the event begins, while supplies last.
