What is BA Celebra 2026, and which communities are taking over Avenida de Mayo this weekend?
If you’ve never been, you should know that BA Celebra is a unique opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of activities, including dances, choirs, parades, participatory workshops, traditional cuisine, and art.
The list of participating communities is enormous: you’ll find representatives from a hundred associations, clubs, and institutions from some 50 countries, including communities from Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Paraguay, Spain, Greece, Italy, Hungary, India, Lebanon, Japan, Ukraine, Armenia, France, Lithuania, and many more!
This September 13, BA Celebra brings a new festival to Avenida de Mayo. 130 booths along the avenue await you, inviting you to sample traditional dishes from each country without leaving the city and to enjoy the best shows.
You’ll get to try everything! The sweet and savory delicacies from each region invite you to discover their most traditional dishes outdoors. The culinary offerings will feature Latin American specialties and exotic European, Asian, and African flavors.
You’ll be able to learn in Calabrian cooking workshops or discover what an authentic Venezuelan arepa is made of. Plus, there’s a special tribute to mate in collaboration with the Mate Museum, featuring rituals like the Brazilian chimarrao, tereré, Syrian mate, and even the Polish roots of this infusion.
Be sure to stop by and enjoy the artistic performances on the main stage, which will feature the Prosvita Ukrainian Folk Dance Ensemble, the Armenian dance group Masís, the Galician folk group Miña Terra, the Aguaitacamino Alliance for Venezuela, and an amazing Korean tango duo. If you like to get involved, there will be workshops on Lithuanian hand-woven textiles, an introduction to the Bulgarian horo, and classes in traditional Greek and French dances.
Each community will have its own institutional booth so you can learn more about its culture, experience its traditions, and enjoy a lunch that lets you sample flavors from around the world—all in one place. If not here, then when?
