January 23rd is not just any date in the Argentine cultural calendar. Luis Alberto Spinetta, one of the most influential figures of national music, was born on that day, and that is why the National Day of the Musician is also commemorated. In Buenos Aires, the day is experienced as a true collective ritual, with tribute concerts and special gatherings celebrating his immortal work.
Buenos Aires celebrates Spinetta on his birthday: Tribute concerts, live and open-air shows on Musician’s Day
This 2026, Buenos Aires will once again pay tribute to Spinetta and his musicians with special shows and performances. One of the confirmed tributes is Spinetta Infinito, a special concert on Friday, January 23rd at 7.30pm at the Terraza del Centro Cultural Recoleta. Spinetta Infinito brings together various artists from the local scene who reinterpret live the Flaco’s repertoire, respecting his poetic and sonorous spirit.

This Spinetta tribute concert is free of charge and features a stable group and rotating singers, integrated by Marina Wil, Julián Baglietto, MOAH, Juan Mehler, León Peirone, Lautaro Bancalari and Lautaro Moreno, who alternate to give new life to songs from Spinetta’s repertoire that cross generations.
Admission is free of charge for Argentines and residents, with admission on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. A key fact: it is not cancelled due to rain, which makes it an ideal plan to celebrate Musician’s Day in Buenos Aires.
On the same Friday, January 23, the Patio del Konex will host the fifth edition of Spinetta: El Marcapiel, a meeting created to celebrate the work of Luis Alberto Spinetta on the day of his birth.

In addition, the Parque Centenario Amphitheater will reopen its doors on January 23rd and although the official program has not yet been announced, it is very likely that the reopening will coincide with a special agenda for the National Day of the Musician and Spinetta’s birthday.
Historically, this space is one of the most important venues for free concerts in the City, so it is not crazy to think that special concerts will be announced on that day.
