From April 23 to May 11, the La Rural exhibition center will host Latin America’s most important book and literature fair. The Buenos Aires Book Fair celebrates its 50th edition in 2026with 1,500 exhibitors and 12 halls dedicated to cultural programming.
Peru Makes Its Presence Felt at the Buenos Aires Book Fair
In 2026, Peru is the guest country at the Buenos Aires Book Fair. The fair’s opening ceremony will take place on April 23 at 6 p.m. and will be led by three of the most prominent Argentine writers of the moment: Selva Almada, Gabriela Cabezón Camara, and Leila Guerriero.

What you can’t miss
If you are a professional in the publishing sector, the 26th International Congress on the Promotion of Reading and Books is one of the fair’s most important highlights, featuring talks, workshops, and debates that bring together specialists, educators, and writers from across the region.
Peru’s participation as the guest of honor includes its own cultural program featuring authors, activities, and exhibitions that bring its literature and traditions to the general public and offer a great opportunity to discover new authors from that country.
And since the Buenos Aires Book Fair is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026, you’ll find special series featuring tributes, themed talks, and unique activities.
