Aerolineas strike this June 10: Who is affected and what to do if you are flying through Aeroparque or Ezeiza.
This Tuesday, June 10, Aerolineas Argentinas begins a national strike called by the Airline Pilots Association (APLA). This pilots’ strike is going to affect more than 6000 passengers and forces the cancellation of 22 flights and the rescheduling of 28 others.
The strike begins this Tuesday, June 10 at 6:00 p.m. and, although it was initially announced that it would last until 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, sources close to the conflict do not rule out that the strike may be extended.
APLA’s claim is focused on non-compliance with the salary agreement, delays in the negotiations and the lack of a clear policy of the Government regarding the future of Aerolineas.
If you have a flight scheduled from June 10 and you had to go to Aeroparque or Ezeiza, we tell you what to take into account.
Aeroparque and Ezeiza: Affected airports and flights with delays
The operations of Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and Ezeiza International Airport are the most affected by the union action. However, there is also an impact on domestic flights to cities such as Córdoba, Mendoza, Bariloche, Salta and Ushuaia.
Aerolíneas Argentinas has already updated part of the schedule with 22 flights suspended and another 28 rescheduled, but the number could increase in the coming hours if an agreement is not reached, so we recommend you to keep an eye on the news through official channels.
What to do if you have a flight affected by the strike on June 10
Aerolíneas Argentinas informed that passengers whose flights are altered will be notified by e-mail, provided that they have correctly filled in their contact information at the time of purchase.
If you purchased your ticket through a travel agency, you should consult directly with the corresponding agent.
Remember that Aerolíneas also has self-management channels available both on the official app and on its website www.aerolineas.com.ar. On the website or in the app you will be able to check the status of your flight, make changes, or request refunds as appropriate.
You can also track your flight and changes through the Aeropuertos 2000 (AA2000) website. There and through a Whatsapp chat you can find out if your flight is on schedule, was cancelled or delayed.
Although for now the strike has a definite schedule, it is not ruled out that the strike may be extended, which could compromise flights on Wednesday as well.
