If you’re not sure what to do this weekend in Buenos Aires and are looking for a free event that invites you to stroll and explore the city, this Saturday , July 25, marks the return of “Abre La Boca”: a one-day festival where you can hop on and off special buses for free to discover museums, foundations, and art studios at your own pace.
For six consecutive hours, the“Abre La Boca” Festival transforms the streets of the La Boca neighborhood into a large interactive cultural circuit with free transportation so that you won’t miss a thing. A fleet of free minibuses will connect more than 15 art spaces, museums, and artists’ studios that, for this one-time event, will be open to the public.
How Abre La Boca Works
This festival lets you create your own itinerary without worrying about how to get around. You’ll be able to go from major international foundations and institutions to small emerging galleries and unique spaces for photographic research, where you can discover interactive exhibits, installations, screenings, and the opportunity to chat directly with artists in their workspaces.
The minibuses run continuously and are free, operating all day on July 25 (from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.). You can hop on at any stop, get off wherever catches your eye, and hop back on the next minibus to continue your journey.

The circuit brings together the best of the traditional and emerging cultural scene in southern Buenos Aires:
- 🏛️ The classic must-sees: The Benito Quinquela Martín Museum, the Proa Foundation, PROA21, the Cinema Museum, and Colón Fábrica (minimum ticket price required for admission).
- 🎨 Foundations: Santander Foundation (open from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), Larivière Foundation (Latin American photography), and the Andreani Foundation.
- 🤫 Secret galleries and cult-favorite galleries: Independent art spaces such as La Verdi, Ungallery, the MARCO Museum, Constitución, Palos, ALM (Archivo Landet Museo), CIFHA (Argentine Historical Photography Research Center), the La Boca Historical Museum, and the Talleres del Paseo.
