Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy holds so much mystery that it is not surprising that there are in Buenos Aires passages and buildings inspired by it. This time, it is the turn of a restaurant that with its dishes and spaces makes you travel through hell and purgatory and straight to heaven with its gastronomy. This is Idilio, in Saavedra.
Idilio: the restaurant inspired by The Divine Comedy
In the heart of the Saavedra neighborhood, Idilio brings to its gastronomy and menu an immersive experience inspired by The Divine Comedy, the play The Divine Comedy. The Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri’s masterpiece. Through its dishes you will go through a sensory experience that goes through Hell, Purgatory and Paradise with its dishes, environments and emotions.
The setting of Idyll is divided into three sectors that represent the realms that Dante describes in his spiritual journey and in his book. Each has its own visual and sound style: Hell is presented with low lights and warm tones; Purgatory, as a transitional space, is serene; and Paradise, with natural light, light colors and a more ethereal air.
Each dish is designed to stimulate the senses and maintain coherence with the overall narrative: homemade breads: warm, fluffy, perfect to start, croquettes, cheeses, pastas and sweets complete a colinary journey through all the senses and flavors from hell to heaven. The result: an experience that is not only enjoyed with the palate, but also with the eyes.
