The end of the year is approaching, and we’re all thinking about how to make it through. A great way to survive the hustle and bustle of this time of year is to look for getaways and festivals that brighten up our weekends. What if we told you that there’s a town near Buenos Aires that celebrates the Empanada Festival in November?
That town is called La Limpia, a small town in the Bragado district. This November, it will once again bring together empanadas and locals for the fourth edition of the Empanada Festival on Sunday, November 15, 2026. Admission is free, and the festival takes place in front of the train station.
The event takes place on the grounds of the train station in this town in the northwest of the province of Buenos Aires. It’s organized by the neighborhood committee. It began as a neighborhood project and, over the years, has grown into a regional event, attracting visitors from all over the area.
How was the previous edition?
The third edition took place on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The municipality of Bragado used the occasion to celebrate the town’s 124th anniversary.
The day featured a traditional parade, folk dance groups, and live music. The main attraction was the Grand Contest for the Best Empanada, which gives the festival its name and meaning.
To be confirmed
For now, the organizers haven’t released the 2026 program, the start time, or the list of performers. Nor is there a more specific address than the station grounds.
It also hasn’t been confirmed how to get there from the city of Buenos Aires. If you’re planning a trip, check the official channels before you go, because the date may change and details are still to be announced.
