From Friday, October 9, through November 1, the second edition of OFFNI (Unidentified Fantastic Film Objects) kicks off in Buenos Aires—a festival dedicated to fantasy cinema, science fiction, ufology, horror, and extraordinary phenomena.
It spans four consecutive weekends, featuring 43 films from 20 countries, ranging from feature films and documentaries to cult classics and experimental short films. This film festival invites you to explore creatures, esoteric experiences, conspiracies, monsters, and stories that challenge the limits of reality. Are you ready?
Buenos Aires Fantastic Film Festival: Three Themed Days to Mark on Your Calendar

In addition to its regular lineup, the festival features three special themed days designed for fans of the genre. Whether you’re looking for a full day of UFO-themed films, feature-length movies with esoteric themes, or Halloween-themed screenings, there’s a day for everyone:
- Saturday, October 10—UFO DAY: A day dedicated entirely to the UFO phenomenon and extraterrestrial encounters. Documentaries such as *El caso Llanca* (which reconstructs the abduction of an Argentine truck driver in 1973) and the Dutch production *The UFOs of Soesterberg* will be screened.
- Saturday, October 24 – ESOTERIC DAY: A journey through supernatural universes that includes an “Occult Screening,” a film that remains a secret until one minute before the showing.
- Saturday, October 31 – HALLOWEEN: A night of pure terror to celebrate Halloween with suspense and vampire films such as *Sangre Vurdalak * and *La frecuencia Kirlian*.
Movies, discussions, and special guests
The OFFNI Cine Fest will feature special guests , panel discussions on film and mysteries, and a fair with bookstores specializing in fantasy literature, ufology, and the esoteric.
Among the Argentine productions being screened, don’t miss titles such as *El monstruo y el Sheriff * (about the legend of the Nahuelito in Patagonia), *Limbo alucinante*, *La pintura del futuro*, and *Ayahuasca Now*. The international selection also includes films from Spain, the United States, Japan, France, Mexico, Kazakhstan, and the Philippines, among others.
